Republic of the Marshall Islands
In the Republic of the Marshall Islands (RMI), the Climate Finance Capacity Support Programme (CFCSP) is supporting the Climate Change Directorate (CCD) and the Ministry of Finance with the provision of several in-line roles in the areas of climate change policy advice, grant preparation, climate communications, climate finance and budget tagging.
The CFCSP will also provide technical support to RMI to develop an adaptation plan for the fisheries sector. This will better-position the Government of RMI to access climate finance, deliver on the National Adaptation Plan (NAP) and improve climate-related financial management information.

Working alongside the CCD’s NAP Awareness Team, Lisa is supporting the development of a NAP Awareness and Outreach Strategy that will allow the CCD to raise awareness of the NAP, climate change and adaptation measures across the nation, including neighbouring island communities.
Parametric drought insurance, Government of RMI
The Pacific Catastrophe Risk Insurance Company (PCRIC), technical specialists from GeoSY LLC and the CFCSP are supporting RMI to design sovereign parametric drought insurance products. Aiming to create tailored insurance solutions that will provide rapid and predictable financial support when pre-defined drought thresholds are reached, PCRIC’s support will enable the Government of RMI to response swiftly and effectively to future drought events.
