Vanuatu

In Vanuatu, the the Climate Finance Capacity Support Programme (CFCSP) is supporting the Department of Climate Change (DOCC) and the National Advisory Board (NAB) by providing additional in-line staff to deliver technical analysis, coordination, management and reporting of mitigation and adaption action. The CFCSP will also provide roles to increase strategic advice and coordination to senior decision-makers, and technical analysis to better take advantages of the opportunities of carbon markets to Vanuatu. These additional roles will allow the DOCC and NAB to increase the cross-government coordination and delivery of climate action across Vanuatu.

Vanuatu is also a recipient of New Zealand’s Country Flexible Finance, with NZD$8 million in climate finance provided as direct budget support so that the Government of Vanuatu can allocate to their climate response priorities.
