In Kiribati, the Climate Finance Capacity Support Programme (CFCSP) is assisting the Government of Kiribati to develop a national asset management strategy. The strategy will outline an approach to managing critical infrastructure and resources and building in climate resilience. The CFCSP is also assisting to identify a national institution that can be accredited by to the Adaptation Fund to increase access to climate finance.

International Court of Justice, Government of Kiribati

In 2025, the Government of Kiribati requested support for statement development and delegation travel and logistical costs for participation at The Hauge’s International Court of Justice (ICJ) Advisory Opinion on the Obligations of States in respect of Climate Change. CFCSP Partner Engagement Lead, Nick Leffler (right), supported Kiribati’s ICJ delegation by providing engagement and coordination support for Kiribati’s Human Rights Director, Aretaake Ientaake (left), Kiribati’s Ambassador and Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Teburoro Tito (centre), and over 18 delegates from 11 Pacific countries to participate, amplifying the Pacific’s voice on global climate issues.
